Have you ever dreamed of soaring with the birds? Skylark North will make that dream a reality in a way unlike any other. With a variety of glider rides available at Skylark, you can take it easy with the short & gentle "Granny Sleigh Ride" or you can experience the performance of the fiberglass sailplane with the "Best Ride". With all the ride options, you can expect a fantastic time of taking in the beauty of Tehachapi from a view previously only available to the birds.

In every flight, your glider will be towed to altitude behind a high powered, single engine airplane. Upon reaching your desired altitude (set in each ride package) you will release from tow and begin to experience motorless flight. After soaring over the scenic Tehachapi Valley, and perhaps exploring the tree covered Tehachapi Mountains, your instructor will guide the glider safely back to the airport for a smooth landing.

• Granny Sleigh Ride
  This safe and gentle ride is for those who want to be able to say, "I've flown in a sailplane!" You'll experience the take-off, aero-tow to 1500 feet, several shallow turns and a precision pattern and landing. This ride lasts approximately 10 minutes and is especially designed for children and the faint of heart.
• Scenic Rides
  Enjoy the beautiful scenery as you glide silently over the nearby Tehachapi Mountain ridges or Wind Turbines. Then explore the Oak studded Tehachapi Valley from 2500 ft. This ride is designed for those who want to experience the joy of soaring, learn something about the sport, and enjoy the sights from a new vantage point. The Schweizer 2-33 sailplane is the basic trainer you will be flying when you take your lessons and is used for the first of two scenic ride options. A high performance fiberglass sailplane option is available to those that want the added luxury of fiberglass flight technology. Scenic rides last approximately 15-20 minutes.
• Basic Orientation Flight
  A Hands-on opportunity for those interested in discovering for themselves what it is like to pilot a glider. In this 3000 ft tow, your instructor will explain and demonstrate the basic techniques of soaring and then you will get a chance to try the controls yourself. Your flight in a Schweizer 2-33 will last approximately 10-15 minutes. Take a booklet on soaring or a Soaring Magazine with you after your flight to further whet your appetite.
• The Best
  This is it! The ride you all have been asking for - The Best Ride. Designed for the most adventurous among you, this tow of 4000 ft above ground takes you over the Tehachapi Mountains. Take notes on flight from the red-tail hawks and turkey buzzards soaring with you. With 30 minutes in a Schweizer 2-33, you have ample time to look around and truly experience the sport of soaring. If you can only go once, this is definitely the flight to take -- it's worth it.
